I am a proud Rossi fan but not because I am blinded, I posted yesterday that no one but Rossi has defended a GP title since 1998, then I delved a little deeper and discovered that he is the only rider to defend an International title since 1999, the World Supers, and that was Fogerty in World supers, give me a hero I can admire because of what they have achieved. As a Kiwi I am obviously a fan of Kim Newcombe, Graeme Crosby, Aaron Slight, Simon Crafar Andrew Stroud etal but, Mr Rossi has achieved the status of a great and history both does and will reflect this for all time, I expect Hailwood had his haters, success does attract the negative. For those of us who have watched this sport for a long time, we have seen quality performances from Rossi many times. Ducati failed him, he did not fail them, his team do not make the bike, they fine tune it.
