2007 is long gone, even if he was not retiring CS is not and was never the answer to ducatis problem, and neither is any rider for that matter.
many folk imply on here that it only went wrong for ducati after CS left and VR joined but both riders have left this one manufacturer for a reason and its not that either of them are incapable, it seems clear, to me at least, looking at their 10 season record in MGP, regardless of riders, engine capacity, rule changes etc... ducatis problems are between the ears of the staff not in the wrists of the long list of riders who have walked away.
