Randy & Aleix seem to be positioning themselves for 2014. They must believe that the MotoGP class will have devolved toward their CRT level of tech by then. Of course, what else can they do? Because of the rules and manufacturers reluctance to fill the grid with older factory machines there are only 12 factory bikes in MotoGP. There are a lot of talented riders who want seats in the series, so... This is one good reason not to combine WSBK with MotoGP as the number of riders would be substantially reduced along with many teams. Where would they and their sponsors go, back to national series or endurance racing? I don't think so.
