I can see the argument from both sides.
Honda don't want spec ECU, they say Ducati & Yam are in agreement but less than a week ago Ducati & Yam said they had no problems if one was introduced ( Probably because Duc & Yam already use an ECU from Marelli who DORNA have just signed a contract with to supply a spec for the CRT teams. Honda say it will make MGP pointless for them because they use it to drive development of road bike tech.
On the other hand we have to be honest and say that MGP is deep in the brown smelly stuff. Astronomical costs mean Kawasaki & Suzuki have already pulled out and others ( BMW, Aprilia, MV, Bimota + Kawasaki & Suzuki ) say that costs have to be reduces & controlled before they would consider returning.
What we want is close racing,PERIOD. Frankly I think Honda's argument that they use MGP to develop road bike tech is a bit hollow MGP bikes are supposed to be prototypes let road bikes & their associated tech stay in WSB.
Whatever happens if costs in MGP &
