Do you know precisely when and how those measurements were taken? If they are the highest speeds recorded for each bike, it's quite possible that Espargaro's was set when he was directly behind Marquez in his slipstream. If that IS the case, and he was still 1.8km/h slower even with a tow, it's a significant difference. It would mean that Marquez could pull out of Espargaro's slipstream and pass at will, whereas Espargaro would run into the proverbial brick wall whenever he tried to do the same.
