From the 15 rounds where they have both contested a QP, Crutchlow has out-qualified Dovi 12 times. Without checking, I'd also venture a guess that he's posted quicker laps on a similar number of occasions. Which is pretty compelling evidence that he's at least capable of getting a MotoGP bike around a track faster.

How about we give him at least the same length of time Dovi has had in MotoGP before making a like-for-like comparison? i.e. 4 years prior to this. (That's ignoring the 6 years' worth of experience Dovi gained racing in the smaller classes.)
