That is why they have NASCAR. If you do not care about the whole picture, the technology and different driving/riding styles and solutions but just care about close racing then NASCAR is ideal. It is a different mindset to those who watch F1 where close racing is a myth. F1, like MotoGP, is all about the technology and personalities and riding/driving techniques. They have catered for close racing by the design of the Moto2 and Moto3 classes. MotoGP should be pure prototype and if it remains so there will always be a disparity in performance. The 500cc 2 strokes had reached their pinnacle of development. A V4 configuration with similar bore and stroke was used by all manufacturers because natural selection over years of racing proved it to be the best solution. So the performance gap between a Suzuki and Honda and Yamaha was very little and closer racing ensued. But it was technologically boring!!!
