I don't get the people who berate him for wanting to leave, he's a two time world champion(most riders never win one world championship never mind two), he's now 4th on the all time win list in the 500cc/MotoGP class and he's walking away as a competitive rider at the age of 27 rather than an old hasbeen plodding around the back of the grid who still thinks he has it to be a champion(and before you all jump on this comment it isn't about VR it's just a general observation). He's doing a Lennox Lewis(still got all his marbles) rather than an Evander Holyfield(deluded and broke) Well done to Casey on a career where only a small amount of competitors ever get to taste success.
