As for MarkG, just because you haven't looked things up yourself doesn't mean everyone else is as in the dark.
Yeah there are a few that spout nonsense but you don't even have to do any research to understand that whenever a new class starts (from 500's -990's 990's-800's and then 800's to 1000's) the gap between the factory bike and the satellite bike of the same manufacturer are much closer. The following year the gap is always bigger between them or at least that's the way it has gone previously when the change from one type of engine to another.
Podiums might be a bit more tricky next year....hope not tho!
