This is only an opinion and can't be verified, but having seen West come past, Marquez decided he'd better not risk tangling with an experienced rider determined to get on the podium in front of his home crowd who might do the same to him as he's done to others. There's no more empathy and humanity in the psyche of Marc Marquez than his post-incident remarks give observers any reason to think. Still, so long as you begin with a disclaimer you can draw any conclusion you want, even if it would involve the use of telepathy.
