I think it was a sensible decision to give Bautista another season on the bike as his results have been respectable and he's a known quantity. Keeping the same rider means it's one less variable to worry about when they go back to the same circuits next season. They've had to work hard to find set ups for the Showa suspension, not having the wealth of data available to those using Ohlins. It's a shame there's such pressure due to the shortage of competitive machinery as riders and teams can both benefit from stability. It may have been one of the factors in Crutchlow's improvement this year.
