If the situation had been reversed and Spies was able to ride and in Nakasuga's exact situation, I have no doubt that Spies would have binned it or had some type of mechanical issue. It's just been that type of year for him. I can't recall a bigger waste of a factory seat in the history of MotoGP. I remember people were wondering why some one like Tohru Ukawa got the factory seat alongside Rossi in the Repsol Honda team during the inaugural season of 4 strokes but at least Ukawa managed to finish 3rd overall and get a win. He's Agostini compared to the miserable year Spies has endured.
