Regarding number of crashes, 5 riders have crashed out more than Cal, and he has crashed out 4 times, the same as 5 other riders too.
Cal, Abraham and Spies have all crashed out 4 times this season.
The fact that Cal has had 5 no scores out of the last 8 races shows how many points he's lost to Rossi and Bautista.
Yes he and Bradl have finished lower than Rossi and Bautista in the standings, but anyone with even half a brain can see that Both Cal and Bradl have been faster than Rossi and Bautista this season.
But yes, points are what matters at the end of the season, regardless of whose faster. Cal has been faster than all the 3 riders mentioned above, but its the mistakes that let him down of course.
As we say, you can stop a fast guy from crashing, but you cant make a slow guy fast.
Cal has only been slower than 3 or 4 guys this season.
