Yes he could've waited ... but he is the world champion, the faster rider, on a faster bike, not the one being lapped. It would be nice to say all these guys are equal, but the reality is they are not. Ellison will never be a front of the pack rider, much less a (2x) world champion. He like the 4 behind him, should've gotten out of the way. And GP officials need to do a better job of informing these lapped riders and should perhaps impose some penalties so they can become more aware. Ellison's actions (or lack thereof) could have cost the world champion serious injury. He's lucky they didn't.
