“@Tetley You make it sound like he's a coward, but Rossi is a genius for getting lapped. Posted by True Fan” We seem to have a misunderstanding. I’m definitely not saying Casey is a coward. None of the riders are. Remember I said “All the MotoGP riders risk injury, permanent disabilities and even death every time they take their bike on track. It would be foolish for them to risk all when there is nothing to gain”. VR46 had nothing to gain by putting himself at risk. Similarly. it appeared to me that Casey was prioritising safety above speed as he had nothing to gain until he saw the prospect of third. After the race, all the riders are expected to comment on their success or otherwise. The tyres, the weather, the pit stops were all cited as being influences. None of the riders are likely to admit “I intended taking no risks”. “I wonder what you would have said if Rossi came third.” I’d have said “That’s a bloody miracle, but it doesn’t change anything for 2012.”
