@ Bad guy, and your 'guarentee' that Bautista's bike is no where near Cal's tech 3, is based on what? The fact that it runs Showa?
It was assumed at the start of the season that Showa were behind Ohlins due to being on the back foot, naturally. And that assumption was correct. As the season has progressed, Showa and Gresini have collected more data and have taken great steps forward. Laguna was the turning point for Showa/Gresini where it all started to come together. the general opinion is that they are not that far behind Ohlins in fact.
Suspension aside, the most important areas are Chassis, Engine, Electronics. Ok lets assume that Showa are still a little behind Ohlins. The bikes of Bradl and Bautista are closer in spec to the Repsol Hondas in Engine and Electronic spec, than tech 3 is to the Factory M1's. Thats not opinion, its fact. And add to that the fact the Factory Honda is marginally better than the Factory M1's, then its clearly untrue to assume that Cal's bike is better
