If this does happen, and its by no means a done deal yet, it could work in either direction for Gresini, which with money aside, is the main reason why a decision has not been finalised yet.
As said, Bautista/Gresini were on the back foot from the start of this season, and have taken leaps forward after Laguna which was a turning point for them. There is no guarentee that Bautista/Gresini will be fast from the get go if they do end up running Ohlins. A years worth of data running Showa is invaluable for early success, and a switch to Ohlins may out them on the back foot again, just like they were this year.
Now of course, having full access to works data would help, so this is more likely to be the key to early success. And although im not personally fully aware of the ins and outs of it, i would haz
