I'm not comparing Marquez to Lorenzo yet. I'm bringing up Lorenzo's first 3 motogp races, which is the best start for a rookie in years. So when the 2013 season begins, and we want to measure the strength displayed by Marquez in his first 3 races, that's who you have to compare it with.
Different year, different bike, different tyres, different rivals (at least some of them). I know all that. It's not about who's the better rider of the two.
But a lot of people (professional journalists among them) are getting carried away too soon. Marquez will be strong, no doubt about that, but people are exagerating his performance today at Valencia, in a session that wasn't long enough for people to get the most of their bikes, with a dry but cold track where not everyone is risking equally.
It doesn't matter anything that Marquez does during testing. We'll only get an indication of his level on top of a motogp bike during qualifying at Qatar, when everyone is on the same page.
