@ausrossi "...Stoner...true to an extent...his final year with 5 DNFs and 3 wins shows that Rossi was on a bike going backwards... Rossi tried to turn that ship around but with races being essentially testing on the fly he had no chance..." Umm, I hate to shatter your illusion with facts, but Stoner's last 13 races on the Ducati resulted in 3 DNFs, 1 5th, 4 3rds, 2 2nds, 3 wins - 9 podiums out of 13 races. Rossi ABSOLUTELY turned that ship around. It had much less to do with "testing on the fly" than you think. Maybe he just isn't as good a rider as Stoner. It seems to be Rossi's assessment, and he would have a better idea. That takes nothing away from Rossi's great record. Just from fanboy dreams.
