If people choose to ignore the head to head comparison between 2006 and 2012 they are delusional. Casey's dominance of the 800cc period makes him one the best we have ever seen in the sport. His peers think so and that is why he is only one of 20 given the official Legend status. Does it make him the best of all time? No! That is firmly in the hands of Rossi and I wouldn't bother arguing the point. When Rossi fans perpetually dismiss Stoner's achievements they are showing an ignorance for the sport that is astonishing! What Rossi did prior to 2006 is one subject. Post 2006 is another. Statistically Stoner has been the best rider in the sport between 2006 and 2012. When Lorenzo retires we may have statistics to show he was the best during his time at the top level. Anything but statistics is opinion and conjecture.
