An interesting statistic is how many laps each rider has led races since 2006. Stoner 1089, Pedrosa 589 and Rossi 531. If we just take the years Lorenzo has been with them, Stone 801, Pedrosa 472, Rossi 353 and Lorenzo 588. I say it is an interesting stat because laps led does not equate to races won. For instance in 2005 Giberneau led more laps than anybody, including Rossi, yet had zero wins compared to Rossi's eleven! Hayden won the 2006 championship having led only 29 laps for the entire season!! Even Bayliss managed to lead for 30 laps that season and that was in one race.
