@ M1M. The manufacturer's are involved why? When it comes down to brass tacks, it is to promote and 'prove' that their product / tech / brand / company is the best. This means that they want every possible advantage so that they can win. This of course is exactly the opposite of what the RACING needs, which is a fair level playing field and arena for the racers to compete in, so the best rider/team combination can win. The fact is that the fundamental wants and needs of the manufacturer's means that they have to destroy the ethos of fair competition in order to attain their corporate goals. I think if more fans actually understood this (and why they really watch racing) then there'd be much more support for the argument that manufacturer's have no place being directly involved (unless fans are happy to accept that the game is rigged, and that waht they are watching is actually a lie).
