If your seeing a speed difference early on the straight it has more to do with gearing choices and the riders ability to pick the bike up and maximize traction. This is especially true in a class like Moto2 with no traction control and spec engines. You are witnessing MM skill and confusing it for some kind of mechanical advantage.
Speeds are much more even at the end of hte straight when top gear is equal and HP and drag have a bigger effect on top speed.
