The list of expensive jewelry on the prototypes is endless.
Just because of the carbon brakes, power advantage and super sticky tires they should pull 3 to 4 seconds clear from the superbikes regardless if the package is imperfect like the ducati.
The cost of a prototype is questionable taking into account that there's isn't a magic wind tunnel providing a perfect aerodynamic package a'la F1 since every race is a gamble depending on wind speed by race day. So once the power has reached a point where it is too much to make a difference there isn't much it can be done to go any faster without throwing the bank on electronics.
If a Superbike can provide so much speed and excitement on a shoestring budget comparing to motogp what's all the fuzz about the prototypes? The novelty? Or the fact that one can't buy it?
Dorna is probably going to end up castrating the superbikes to make their premier class look good.
