I just hope that the energy drink craze doesn’t get nixed by the safetycrats the way tobacco and alcohol did. Remember when our sport and most other motorsports were still sponsored primarily by tobacco companies? Marlboro, Camel, Gauloises and Lucky Strike were the Red Bulls, Rockstar’s and Monsters of their day until they were banned. The void that was left has almost killed MotoGP. Coca cola couldn’t make it go, Pepsi couldn’t make it go. Trying to get top flight sponsors into a sport like this requires one heck of a sales pitch these days. And with a lot of young Europeans out of work these days you absolutely need a product they will embrace.
