@ I don't think technical regulations are that much an issue when it come to sponsors, but overall the cost of run a racing program. Posted by andrew2k My point is that there are no available slots for competitve, established teams for RB to be a title sponsor. If BMW wanted to join the fray of Moto GP the cost would be astronomical. Making HP is the easy part. Making HP out of an engine that has to last longer then 3 races is stupid expensive. It seems to me it would be cheaper to rebuild an engine than the cost of exotic materials to make the engines last that long. This with the 20 liters of fuel makes the use of super nerds a necessity. Don't get me started on tires. So who can RB really sponsor? The restrictions are killing the sport.
