He has paid less money for his ride than a lot of Moto2 and Moto3 riders, he has definatley spent a lot less money than riding for PTR in WSS.
Sacchi nutured his later years in 125GP where he was OK, he hit a bit of a brick wall in 250, then again he never had the all important RSA, just the LE (CRT equivelant).
He did beat Smith yes but remember what bike Smith was on at that time.
He will break no records, but it is good that sponsors are willing to back these riders just to get on the GO grid knowing that they have no chance.
Paying for your ride is accross the board in racing from your very first race, how many people in all the other series do people actually think that the team pays them to ride?
As long as I remember in GP riders have had to buy the bikes themselves, most of the ROC/Harris/NSRV were owner riders and 95% of the RG,YZ and RS riders were.
