@ Jack B....Good post. I also can't help agreeing on the Rossi point. He finished top Ducati rider, he scored more podiums than some others beneath him, when he felt that the bike wouldn't throw him up the road he proved he still has race craft in both wet and dry.
His detractors castigate him for not trying.... they castigated him in 2011 when he fell off 12 times when he was trying. Too many riders have suffered career wrecking injuries while trying to get better results than their bike would allow.
I wouldn't rate him in the top 6 by any criteria, but he certainly deserves to be in the top 10. Thousands voting with multiple names kept him out.
