A good way to look at how good Stoner was is Phillip Island....The fastest track on the calender and owned by Rossi until Stoner came along. Even if you say he had a rocket ship in the 2007 Ducati how do you explain his next 3 wins on a bike that some people say he made worse each year....I guess that means Rossi wasnt that good then, even with the Yamaha and was beaten by a inferior rider on a inferior bike. The fact is most of the real racing fans appreciate talent and know it when they see it....Stoner was talent and some of the greatest riders and commentators said it and he had to win against more World Champions than any other rider in the modern era.
