Wise words by Ezpeleta, but he's only really stating the obvious. I dont think theres many people that have seriously written Rossi off as a title contender for 2013.
Theres only really 4 bikes that are capable of winning a dry race assuming that they are stay upright and without issues, so if only to save face, Rossi needs to at the very least be on the podium consistently whilst beating Marquez to in the final standings.
Apart from 2006, consistency has never really been an issue for Rossi. Even in his dismal last 2 seasons, he was pretty consistent, albeit consistently poor (except for a handful of times).
I think success would be if he is a serious contender from the get go with at least 4/5 wins, but i think hanging around in 3rd or 4th off the pace of the front guys will not be good enough for his fans.
He he starts getting beaten by the satallite bikes again like last year, it will be a real failure for Rossi considering he has has the bike that he has proven he can ride we
