I agree that it is alwasy big news and talked about alot when people like Rossi, Loeb, Schumacher makes changes with teams and cars/bikes etc.
But in the case of Rossi it does not make you the best, it just makes you the most talked about. Some riders like that side of it, some dont.
It was big news when Rossi moved to Ducati, and he and his fans said bad things about Stoner before he even jumped on the bike. Then look what happened. He failed miserably.
This is why Rossi is playing things down for sure. At least something good has come from his failure of the last two seasons, and that is that he has been brought back down to earth with a bang. It has affected his ego massively, and thats what hurts, and thats why he has learnt to be humble and respect the other top riders. I just hope that if he does do well, that he keeps this in mind.
