Of course Yam is talking to up-and-coming riders. They'd be incompetent if they didn't. And before we debate which rider is for the chop, we need to remember that the rules for 2014 are not decided yet. It is not impossible that teams could run more than 2 bikes in 2014. It is not impossible that Yam will provide proddy racers to independant teams and pay for contracted riders to ride them. Cal's career is still on the up. Maybe VR46 will not be on the pace and be ready for WSB. Maybe VR46 will scorch the lot and JLo will defect to Honda. With another year's experience Cal might find himself in the factory team. Until then all opinions are just guesses.
