In reality and for their stated aims, MotoGP as a place for development of the motorcycle cannot be true.
Bikes are so advanced and with capabilities so far beyond the needs of anyone outside of the MotoGP paddock. Which has to mean that MotoGP is a development cul-de-sac.
Which also means that development in MotoGP is of use ONLY in MotoGP. By extension that has to mean that it makes sense for the technical rules in MotoGP to be sued to ensure we get the right product - proper racing as the development aim.
But we won't. And the only explanation for why we won't is that Honda's & Yamaha's real reasons aren't anything like what they say they are.
