If they really wanted to do it the "Ducati" way, they could try going back to steel trellis. Stoner said that with the Steel trellis design, manufacturing consistency was so bad that every motoGP frame handled differently. With Audi's manufacturing experience I wonder if they could make each frame exactly the same.
Basically if they can't design & produce new frames within 2 weeks like the Japanese, they will always be playing catchup.
