People still don't get it. You could put ANY current rider on the Ducati right now & still lose to a Factory HRC or Yam - even JL & DP.
The issue is that the RULES make it virtually impossible for any Mfr to GET competitive with HRC & Yam so their pilots have the chance to compete - even with a massive budget.
Can't use different tyres to solve issues, & can't have the testing time to try to improve the bike. Catch 22.
Why do you think BMW have no interest in MotoGP, and Suzuki (IMO) are unlikely to make a full Mfr return? Its because they KNOW they haven't a fair chance to compete, so their products will just look inferior while they spend a packet for the privilege.
As long as the Rules strangle racing competition instead of enhancing it (which is NOT in the interests of HRC & Yam so they'll block it), then NOTHING much will change in MotoGP. Fans should be up in arms about this instead of the little things IMO.
