Problem- MotoGP is having a difficult time attracting sponsors. Sponsors want their product on TV. Solution- Create sub-class of motorcycles with separate rules to allow lower price point participation in the premier class. Problem- Sub class is so slow that none of them get any TV time. Solution- Allow top finisher of Sub Class to hang out with Podium finishers in real race. Problem- A bike is allowed in Parc Ferme that did not finish on the podium. Solution- Slow down the Top tier teams to bring them back in touch with the sub class hopefully enough so that sub class gets glimpse of TV time. Problem- Top tier teams threaten to leave if rules are too stringent. Solution- Leave rules alone for now, and give further concessions to sub-class. Problem- Outside manufacturers await a liberal enough rules package so as to allow back door “Quasi factory “ teams into the sport via loopholes. Solution- Oh just give up already!
