@ biqq hoss, The steel trellis "frame" was not a full perimter frame like those in SBK. The engine was still a stressed member. The upper frame was connected directly to the engine and the swing arm was mounted directly to the engine. This has been the design since the bikes inception in 2003. The design change to CF simply eliminated the steel trellis upper, it did not change what was connected to the engine. In 2006 Ducati stated that (they felt) the design of the bike was perfect, and the BS tires were the only limiting factor in its performance.
