Its a great shame, but c'mon - hardly unexpected.
And its not likely to get better. Honda & Yam brought in F1 tech pneumatic valves after Dukes Desmo proved so fast with Stoner in '07 - only way they could rev hard enough to beat Desmodromic operation. Not bike tech, F1
Testing limits and the tech rules mean Ducati haven't the time nor the room to get competitive - IT WON'T HAPPEN, unless the rules change drastically - which HRC / Yam will do their utmost to veto/block.
Audi will quickly realise this, demand changes and will PULL OUT when they don't get them, leaving 2 mfrs and an even sorrier MotoGP. I hope I'm wrong, but will be totally unsurprised if I'm not.
My prediction is Ducati will pull out of MotoGP in 2 seasons if the playing field isn't levelled to give them a fair chance.
