It's a bit strong saying Rossi was scared to put the Ducati on the line. He publicly admitted that he wasn't prepared to. Different case altogether. Burgess saw the data and said that the faster the bike went, the worse it got. Rossi was paid to help develop the bike, bringing it back to the pits in a wheelbarrow doesn't do that.
Casey left because Ducati wouldn't listen to him (he actually said that he knew the answer but they wouldn't do it) Rossi left for exactly the same reason.
If German money and faster turn rounds are possible then we'll see progress and I believe it will come from Dovi.
