MotoGP is all about prototypes and development however the 5 engine rule must be a trade off between costs and affordability of participation. It is clear that if there were no limits on expenditure (As it should be in an ideal world) then in most cases the richest purse would win most championships and participation would dwindle down. It would therefore appear that limiting the number of engines and or costs is a good thing especially taken that this may be the very reason why other manufacturers such as Aprilia, Kawasaki, Suzuki and others do not participate,
