Yes, Stoner is the outlier, but he wins diminished from 10, to 6, to 4 and down to 3 during his final year. If we were to deduce from what is on record, Casey Stoner "might' not be able to win on the Ducati at all now. So there is merit to questioning the quip.
What's odd is Stoner's eerie similiarity in terms of declining race wins. Ten during his first year on the RCV down to 5 during his second year.
