Look, Honda tested both a fully stressed concept AND carbon fiber as a build medium. This was years ago. Know what they found out with their research? The "frameless" chassis is too unpredictable at speed and carbon fiber doesn't work well as a moto production medium because it's hard to control torsional ridigity. ducati tried to get around this by "layering" carbon fiber on top of each other to increase or reduce rigidity, but it simply didn't work (ask Casey).
So, can we stop saying BUILD A TRELLIS !! USE CF !!!! BLAH BLAH BLAH
It's simply an inferior design, as you have all seen with your own eyes.
