Rossi exposed Ducati like no other rider could, not the other way around. Every rider failed to have consistant results at Ducati except for the 2007 season which gifted Stoner a championship on an obviously faster machine. Every one of the many World Champion riders to swing a leg over the Ducati has suffered bad results. It wasn't until Rossi rode the bike that the world learned just how uncompetitive the bike really is. When Stoner was failing 08, 09, 10 people still thought it just might be a sign of Stoner's provenly inconsistent nature.
