I agree its a problem. IMO a lot of that problem is that the Spin Doctors and the Factories have 'conditioned' the fan base to believe that 'prototype' and 'crazy development' are essential and what makes MotoGP the premier series.
The fact that this path has meant the racing is inconsequential, ineffective and is asphyxiating MGP through a scattered 3-tier grid and the reliance on personalities and off-track drama to keep fans watching with massive costs and corporate politics is not understood and ignored by the masses (just like real politics is now). Fans don't get that they are being played and spoon-fed what the organisers want them to see.
The Spin Doctors have managed to get the fanbase believing their hyperbole, and got them actually supporting a direction that has reduced the Sport to the level of Reality TV.
I guess we collectively get what we deserve eh? MotoGP fans are being willingly conned IMO.
