Simply put, Yamaha & Honda want the penny & the bun. In their perfect scenario's, then they both want their respective satellite bikes to be able to take points away from their competitor factories, while at the same time NOT taking points away from their own factory and title-sponsored Factory Squad. This is tricky. As Yam don't have a title sponsor unlike HRC, then perhaps they would allow Tech3's bikes to be pretty close to factory spec (but it seems that depends on if they can afford to). HRC have the bucks, but don't want to upset Repsol. If they can get away with it (& I think they can), then I think HRC will give Bradl a very good bike, but will impose terms like 'team orders' to prevent Bradl taking points off a Repsol bike, but beat as many Yams as he can. Maybe Yam would like to do the same, but they don't have the title-sponsor money (Catch 22 eh?).
