shamarone: If I can recall correctly that was the era of expanding to other countries. China, Turkey etc hosted MotoGP races around those years and Qatar followed suit. It's a good question indeed why Turkey or especially Qatar should host a round and not Brazil or Argentina which (especially Brazil) have a good motorsports following crowd and sponsors can have big and "appliable" audiences.
In my opinion Spain should revert to 2 races (omit Valencia perhaps) and the third one sent down there.
