Racing needs entrants. Entering teams need affordable costs and the real chance to compete, so they can get sponsors. Not even other Mfr's want to enter MGP now, as they know HRC & Yam have all the advantages. I'd like to see the Teams stuck to a control ECU, limit the sensors and ability of the ECU, and make the teams submit 1 fixed, unalterable Map for the event. Introduce a sensible rev ceiling that means that super-exotic pneumatic valves aren't needed - so engines are MUCH cheaper and so are the electronics. Carbon brakes - ditch then too, they & pneumatic valves are a dead-end anyhow. Then no need for a fuel limit, as the tech-spec limits & rev-limit mean that exotic materials & an army of tech geeks are unnecessary. Then teams can go RACING - and the Mfr's being there or not won't matter!
