@Talentfan when all the bikes are standardised, the variable component will then be the riders. Richer teams will have the best riders/teams and will still dominate. Rider and team salaries escalate to the point of where the rnd costs are at the moment (see: English football) and at the end of it the costs will still be high. And private teams are sponsor driven, those sponsors want to be on tv. Unless the cameras are panned to the backmarkers, these teams will be dead too unless they have the money to recruit the best.
