MCN this week has an article from Neil Spalding, where he says that Yamaha have a new gearbox in their factory bikes to counteract the HRC seamless 'box and their previous advantage out of turns and initial acceleration.
Its on Page 78 if you have access to this publication.
It'll be interesting to see the relative performance in this critical area at COTA - have Yam closed the gap with a better gearbox? And if so, by how much?
The HRC's were ascendant in the test, but that doesn't gurantee that the race weekend will go the same way.
It'll be educational finding out!
