New point of view: the failure of Vale in Ducati (failure relative to VR's level as he was still better than Hayden and making Stoner's times in 2011) is actually his main acquittance. If he had done "goodish" it would have raised some eyebrows, but the (to VR's level) total failure show there was something DEEPLY wrong there. We'll know better in Vale's next book, even though it all seems to point to Duc refusing to listen.
